I started Saidi och Kollektivet in 2001, after writing Swedish pop/rock songs for more than four years, without a band to play them with.
Saidi och Kollektivet took on three main forms. The first was a very temporary band, that in autumn 2001 consisted of me and Lars Forsell. We tried out a couple of drummers and basists, but never reached a final result.
After returning home after a long journey, I managed to put together the first real band formation in late autumn 2002. It was great and kept on growing until the summer holiday 2003.
In autumn 2003, most old members were out travelling or studying abroad, so the few members who were left did recruit new ones. This formation changed slightly for the rest of the time we kept on playing.
Saidi och Kollektivet released four demos and performed a lot in various formations. We stopped rehearsing in 2007, but I still write songs like the ones we played. It was a great time, and I want to thank everyone for making it so.
